Senior Network Operations Engineer
Duration: 4 Month Contract to Hire
Rate: $50-$65
Location - New York
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Operations Engineer to ensure seamless network operations across enterprise and event environments. As a subject matter expert in routing and switching, you will play a critical role in maintaining network performance, resolving issues, and supporting complex live events with absolute fault tolerance. This position serves as the bridge between network architecture and venue technology, requiring expertise in both technical troubleshooting and infrastructure design.
Key Responsibilities:
- Network Administration: Install, operate, and maintain network infrastructure, serving as an administrator for production networks.
- Incident Management: Troubleshoot network-related outages, execute change management processes, and participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation.
- Documentation & Monitoring: Maintain network configuration documentation, architectural diagrams, and network monitoring tools.
- Optimization & Analysis: Conduct periodic reviews of firmware/software, analyze network performance, and collaborate with Network Architects to enhance system functionality.
- Support: Provide Level 2 and Level 3 technical support, assist with infrastructure changes, and generate service request tickets.
About you:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years in enterprise network operations with hands-on expertise.
- 4+ years with enterprise systems platforms, including compute, storage, data centers, and automation.
- 3+ years supporting large events, venues, or complex networks.
- Proficient in troubleshooting network connectivity issues, especially with AWS and Azure.
- Expertise with Cisco, Citrix, Palo Alto, and Juniper product platforms.
- Knowledge of network security, event correlation platforms, and ticketing systems like ServiceNow.
- Experience with broadcast networks and streaming technologies.
